Serenade the Stars were a UK-based indie rock band who carved out a brief but memorable presence with their evocative sound and introspective song writing. At the heart of the band was the creative combo of Damian Carruthers and Matthew Harman, whose collaboration shaped their distinctive sound.
Blending shimmering guitar textures with melancholic melodies and a sense of quiet intensity, the band built a reputation for songs that felt both intimate and expansive. Their debut and only album, Astronomy, showcased this dynamic, lush, atmospheric arrangements paired with emotionally resonant lyrics exploring themes of distance, longing, and self-discovery.
Though their time together was short-lived, Serenade the Stars developed a dedicated following drawn to their sincerity and sonic depth. In 2020, the band quietly disbanded, leaving Astronomy as their sole release, a lasting snapshot of a project that burned brightly, if only for a moment.
In January 2020 , after some huge gigs, a plethora of radio play from some big stations, Serenade The Stars signed a publishing deal and announced the release of their debut album. In March of the same year Covid hit us, the world went into lockdown and the band were left unable to tour the album. Shortly after, their publishers went into administration and the album was released into the void of nothingness.
Now 6 years later Matthew and Damian got together and have launched a long awaited vinyl copy of the album.
